UK Sports Publisher Turns to True Crime

According to Bookseller.com, Pennant Books, a British independent publishing house that specializes in sports books, is branching out into true crime in a fairly big way. Pennant will release more than a dozen true crime books in 2008 from several quality authors such as Wensley Clarkson and my fellow In Cold Blogger Carol Anne Davis (pictured left).

Other authors to be published by Pennant Books include Paul Buck, Terry Smith, Dr. Jon Cole, Dr. Benjamin Cole, and Laurence Alison.

Carol Anne Davis' Youthful Prey: Child Predators Who Kill will be released in Great Britain in August of this year. According to the publisher's press release, Carol will be "turning her incisive eye on society’s most extreme transgressors: those who kill children for gratification. Carol Anne Davis’ previous work on women, children, couples and sadists who commit murder has contributed greatly to the world’s understanding of ‘motiveless’ acts. This latest work takes that journey even further."

Best of luck to Carol, Wensley, and Pennant Books on their new endeavor.
