Prison, Boxing Ring, Tinseltown: "Female Samson" Goes Hollywood

According to the Bangkok Post, former drug dealer turned female boxing champion "Samson" Siriporn Taweesuk (pictured left) has sold the rights of her life story to a Hollywood production company Women In Focus Production Inc.

Siriporn, 24, was arrested in Thailand in 2000 for selling meth. She was convicted and sentenced to prison where she took up boxing. According to the article, "Siriporn won the women's World Boxing Championship light fly-weight title in a fight staged inside the Tanyaburi Women's Prison."

Producer Niramol Sriyanond said of Siriporn, "her story would be a good way to broaden the image of Thai women."
