Books Save Ex-Mafioso's Life: Louis Ferrante Talks Unlocked

Former NY mafia soldier Louis Ferrante (pictured left) appeared on the Leonard Lopate Show this week to promote his true crime memoir, Unlocked: A Journey from Prison to Proust. Ferrante writes about how he picked up a book for the first time while in prison and it saved his life.

Publisher's Weekly raved about Unlocked declaring it a "raw, brutal memoir with glimmers of hope and redemption," and adding that "this true crime account does not resemble any of the cardboard wise guys of the tube or the silver screen. It definitely grabs the reader's attention."

You can listen to the interview right here.

Also, feel free to buy Ferrante's book for yourself.
